Courses and Registration

Sessions

Summer classes at Mercer offer you a convenient selection of three sessions to choose from.

Session 2022 Dates
Session I (5 weeks) May 23-June 24
Session II (5 weeks) June 27-July 29
Session III (10 weeks) May 23-July 29

Summer registration begins March 28 or at the time that your fall registration becomes available. The late registration deadline for Sessions I and III is May 24, and the late registration deadline for Session II is June 28.

Formats

In addition to multiple session offerings, Mercer offers two types of course formats to best fit your needs: in person and online. Regardless of format, most summer courses carry credit of 3-4 semester hours each, and the majority of students enroll in no more than 6-8 credit hours altogether.

In Person

Enjoy our historic Macon campus in the summer by taking classes in person. In-person courses involve students meeting in the classroom 3-5 days per week. If you plan to take classes on campus this summer and need to sign up for campus housing, visit the Housing page in MyMercer. If you have questions about on-campus housing, contact the Office of Housing and Residence Life for additional information.

Online

Our wide selection of online summer courses, sometimes referred to as distance learning, give you the flexibility to complete your coursework from a location that’s convenient for you. Online courses are offered through Mercer’s course management system, Canvas, and any additional tools at the professor’s discretion.
